What is the part of your career that you enjoy the most?
Working with business owners is what I really love doing. Prior to Berlin Ramos, I was an owner of a restaurant. So, having been a business owner, I understand and have experienced many of the challenges that business owners face.
What drew you to Berlin Ramos?
As a former client, I appreciated how easy it was to do business with them. They were knowledgeable, responsive, and a pleasure to work with. When I decided to move onto something new in my career, they were a natural fit.
Can you share a business story that really made you feel good?
I was approached by a business owner who I knew but did not work with. They were negotiating a business line of credit and were in need of some financial statement services that they wanted me to provide. After asking some questions and having a discussion, l was able to suggest a few things that they should add to the list of things to negotiate with the lender. The things I suggested would save the business significant cost in dollars and time.
After giving my suggestions, I explained to the business owner that I could not provide the services they were looking for because I did not have expertise in their industry. I then helped them find a CPA that could provide the services they required. The business owner was very appreciative of all of the help I provided, especially as I knew that they would not be my client. Sometimes the best thing I can do for someone is assisting them in finding the right person for their needs.
How do the skills you’ve honed at Berlin Ramos transfer to your personal life?
I am a leader at Berlin Ramos and Berlin Ramos provides professional services. So, I need to know how to lead but also how to serve. Understanding how to perform these two different roles is important. I need to be a leader of my family and in my community, but I also need to know how to serve my family and community.
