What is it that you love about your profession?
For the majority of my career, I’ve had the privilege to work with amazing clients, from family groups and small to mid-size businesses to individual taxpayers. I find that I get great fulfillment in helping clients with their tax and non-tax planning for a healthy financial future.
Is there a client story that you’ll always remember?
After 25 years of assisting a medical practice with their accounting, tax, and advisory needs, I was fortunate to assist them with the sale of their practice. The practice was sold to a publicly traded company and the shareholders walked away knowing that their future was secure.
What is the most satisfying aspect of your job?
What brings me satisfaction at the end of the work day is the hope that I was able to provide valuable information to our clients, and that I may have helped a Berlin Ramos staff member understand something that they didn’t at the beginning of the day. I’m always happy to help and provide guidance.
How does your work life positively affect your home life, and vice versa?
My work is part of who I am, so I don’t really feel that there is a strong dividing line. As someone who enjoys games and puzzles, and has a bit of a competitive spirit, I’m able to channel these characteristics into my work to produce creative and accurate solutions to client issues. On the other side, my work helps me create strong personal relationships. I’m happy to be able to provide tax and advisory services to many of my friends and neighbors. I also enjoy fielding questions from my workout colleagues at the local gym.
