What drew you to Berlin Ramos?
I had worked as a TPA at independent firms and financial services firms, but never at a CPA firm. I thought that working with accountants would be a good opportunity to broaden my knowledge base, and I was right!
What gets you excited about your profession?
I am very passionate about making the process of installing and maintaining a qualified retirement plan as easy and painless as possible for our clients. Since many of our clients are small businesses, they don’t have a lot of time to spend on their plan. By partnering with us, we take as much of that work off their hands as possible. We free up their time so they can focus on their business, and they have that trust in us that we’re going to deliver the best plan possible.
Can you talk about a time when a client story has had a positive impact on you personally?
We have recently had some clients who terminated our service, mostly because of cost, then returned. It’s personally satisfying to have these clients return because they realized the value of our services. It’s unfortunate that they learned the hard way by “getting what they paid for” elsewhere, but it’s rewarding that they returned to Berlin Ramos due to our excellent service.
What brings you the most satisfaction at the end of the day?
That feeling of having done my job to the very best of my ability and knowing that I have eased my clients’ burdens with respect to their retirement plans.
